How to Send Orders to Corporate Merch

When a customer buys a Corporate Merch product from your store, the order is sent to Corporate Merch for production and shipping. This article explains how orders are sent, how to control when they’re sent, how to check their status, and how to fix orders that couldn’t be sent.

How orders are sent

The Corporate Merch app follows your store’s fulfillment request settings.

  • If your store automatically requests fulfillment, orders are sent to Corporate Merch automatically.
  • If your store requests fulfillment manually, the order is sent to Corporate Merch when you request fulfillment for it in Shopify.

Choosing when orders are sent

In your Shopify admin, open Corporate Merch under Apps, then go to Settings. Under Order import, choose when orders are sent to Corporate Merch:

  • Sync on Payment (recommended): Orders are sent only once they’re fully paid. This is the safest option for most stores.
  • Sync on Creation: Orders are sent as soon as they’re placed. This is the fastest option, but unpaid orders may be sent too. Use it only if your store captures payment immediately at checkout.

Holding orders before they’re sent

Once an order reaches Corporate Merch, it goes into production quickly. If you want time to review or cancel orders first, check Hold auto-synced orders before sending them to Corporate Merch under Order push delay, and choose how long to hold them.

Orders are held for the time you set, then sent automatically. If you cancel an order in Shopify during the hold, it won’t be sent.

Getting notified about failed orders

Under Notifications, check Send me a daily email if any orders failed to push to Corporate Merch in the last 24 hours. You’ll get one email a day listing any orders that need attention, so you don’t have to check the app.

Checking order status

  1. In the Corporate Merch app, go to Orders.
  1. Click an order to open its Order Details page.

The Shipment Status shows whether the order was successfully pushed to Corporate Merch and its current status in Corporate Merch.

Why an order might not be sent

Corporate Merch checks every order before accepting it. An order won’t go through if:

  • A product doesn’t have enough inventory to fill the order.
  • The shipping address can’t be verified. The State field must use the two-letter abbreviation. For example, enter NY, not New York.
  • The phone number or email address is missing. Every order needs both.

To see the exact reason an order failed, open the order and click Push to Corporate Merch. The error message will tell you what needs to be fixed.

Fixing the address, phone, or email

  1. On the order’s Order Details page, click Update Address.
  1. Correct the address, and add the phone number or email address if either is missing.
  1. Click Save.
  1. Click Push to Corporate Merch to send the order again.

Changes you make here only update what’s sent to Corporate Merch. The order in Shopify stays the same, so update it there too if you want your Shopify records to match.

Skipping address verification

If you’re sure the address is correct but it still can’t be verified, check Don’t validate the address on the Order Details page, then click Push to Corporate Merch again.

Only skip verification when you’ve confirmed the address with your customer. An incorrect address can cause delays or a failed delivery.

Inventory errors

If an order fails because a product doesn’t have enough inventory, contact support@corporatemerch.com and we’ll help you with the order.
